For the devotee of the extraordinary avifauna of Australia, this is a native site which will capture you, at least for a while. You can take a leisurely stroll among the cyber-flora while looking at pictures of some of the local birds, including the maned duck, pied currawong, ubiquitous kookaburra, and superb fairy wren; you can peruse a checklist of birds seen in the gardens, or listen to some of their calls. Although the sounds of kookaburra and wren may be mellifluous, they are accompanied here by the screams of two types of cockatoo. Useful for terrifying family, friends, and co-workers, perhaps these would also work as warning signals when your computer is about to crash? Links to many related Australian sites are also accessible from here.
